Climbing Mera Peak At 6470M

April 18, 2011

Mera Peak is over 6,470m and it is the highest trekking peak in Nepal.  Mera Peak is an ideal introduction to the world of High Altitudes and Thin Air in Nepal. The view from the top is arguably one of the finest panoramas in the Himalaya.  It is a magnificent spread of 5 of the world’s highest mountains. While Mera Peak is a tough and demanding climb, it has little in the way of technical climbing. As such, Mera Peak is accessible to most mountain walkers, provided they are fit, acclimatised and armed with determination and strong will-power.   Gabriel Filippi will lead a group of mountaineers to the peak in April 2011.
